Cheyenne 4 years old
Dallas 2 years old
Cheyenne is 11 years old and has been riding for eight years.  Her horse of choice is Freckles.  Although, she still enjoys riding Mia when her sister lets her.  She also likes riding Reo (Mom's horse).

This season has been fabulous for this team.  They have come to an agreement and are truly a team.  They have "timed" out of buckaroos and are running with the Juniors.

Freckles and Chey's favorite events are Figure 8 and Keyhole.  They are doing so well they have run out of D class and are showing in C class.

Cheyenne has started trail riding with Freckels and teaching her to jump logs.

Cheyenne and Freckles
Dallas is nine years old and has been riding since she was 18 months old.  Her horse of choice is Mia, our 13 year old POA.

Dallas and Mia had a tough beginning to the season.  Mia  was badly beaten by another horse in the pasture in early May.  It has taken most of the year for her to recover.

Even with her injuries, Mia has carried Dallas to new levels.  They have "timed" out of buckaroos and are running with the Juniors.

They earned 8 points toward Year End Awards.
Nanu and Grandpa (Dennis and Lorna Hackmann) started their kids riding at a very young age.  Oak Acre POAs became the farm name in 1972 when the family began training and showing Pony of the Americas.  The three Hackmann children enjoyed many years of successful showing at POA, open and 4-H shows.

In 1981, the family and ponies moved to Montana.  The competition and showing environment changed.  Therefore, the ponies were sold and Quarter Horses were purchased.  Two of the Hackmann children decided pursue other activities.  Suzette, however, continued to train and show.  She had several more years of success in open and 4-H shows.

Suzette began training horses and giving riding lessons at the age of 12.  She won many Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion trophies during her 11 years of 4-H showing.  She also showed the horses she trained at many regional and international breed shows with great success.

After a brief hiatus from the horse business, Suzette is once again training and showing as well as giving riding lessons.  Her two girls, Cheyenne and Dallas, have inherited her love of horses and are following in her footsteps.

This has became a family affair when Wade became a "show" Dad in April 2000.  He is learning the proper leadline techniques as well as being able to change the girls into their dress clothes just in time for their classes.

Wade has become the barn photographer and organizer.  He makes sure we all eat on a regular basis, picks up our equipment and moves the camper trailer to where ever we need it.

At the same time, Nanu and Grandpa have rediscovered their love of horses.  Huckleberry was purchased four years ago.  He is a wonderful trail horse.  Grandpa has started to show him in competitive trail rides with great success.  Nanu bought Jesse two years ago.  Together they enjoy riding trails throughout the Rocky Mountains in Montana.

Nanu and Grandpa were on-hand to help with the 2003 Classic show in August.  They loved watching their granddaughters give 10, 11 and 12 year olds a run for their money.

Freckles is a 6 year old POA mare.  We have owned her for three years.

Chey and Dallas teamed up this year to run 2 Man 3 Barrel (flag race).  They have placed very well this season and are looking to go faster next year.

Suzette and Oaks Reo Grand
Suzette rides and shows Oaks Reo Grand a ten year old Quarter Horse gelding.  She has been training and riding him since he was two.  They have improved their times in all events by at least 1/2 a second during the 2006 show season.  Reo loves his job and does it very well.  Their favorite events include Keyhole and Flags.

Suzette has started a new horse for the 2007 season.   While Reo won't be retired, he will be able to rest more often.  Gerifity is a four year old Appaloosa filly. Gerifity is a handful.  She is a very loving horse but prefers not to be saddled.  It's a slow process but she is going to make an awesome gamer
